Lesson Summary

This lesson covered the United States policy for the use of the following weapons:

• Nuclear weapons may be used to end a war or other hostilities against the U.S. Presidential authority is required.
   
• Biological weapons will not be used under any circumstances.
   
• Chemical weapons will not be used under any circumstances.
   
• Non-lethal weapons, including herbicides and riot control agents can be used under special circumstances and with Presidential authority.
